How many mobile phones are allowed in to india by customs act?

Hi,

Iam travelling from UK to INDIA and iam planning to carry some 4 mobile phones. Can some one please tell me how many phones are allowed with out customs duty to be carried in to india.

    For others if it pack brand new piece then you will be allowed only one then you have to pay as per used one custom duty and if it is used one then you will.

    I would say two. I carried 2 mobile phones to India last year without any issue. If you are asked just tell them One is yours and the other is the gift.
